Dr. Johar graduated from Government Dental College, Bangalore, Karnataka, India in 1968.
Having obtained a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, a very modern and well equipped clinic was
established on Residency Road. Later he moved to USA, where he did a course in
Prosthodontic Dentistry at the New York State University. On returning he has been in
active dental practice since 1970.
He was a consultant to C.S.I group of hospitals as head of Dental Department; he is
also consultant to public sector and other multinational companies like H.M.T, I.T.C,
and Indian Airlines amongst others. To keep up with new developments and up to date
advance in dentistry, he took up a course in implant dentistry as early as 1980. |

He is the founding member of the Indian Academy of Implant Dentistry. Later in September of 1980 he
was invited to the Fellow of the Royal Society of Dental Health, London at the same time. In 1988 –
89 he was elected to the International Honour Dental Organization Pierre Fanchard Academy as a
life member.
He is also an active member of Indian Dental Association from the early days and has been involved in
all Dental Association administration. He is the very first secretary of the IDA from 1970 – 1972. He
has been a member of the central council of the I.D.A. for more than eight years. He was elected as
the president of the Dental Association, Karnataka State Branch 1983-84. |

IDA honoured Dr. Johar for service to the community for four decades at a special function of
Dentists Convention in May 2005 by minister of health and senior IDA members.
Extracurricular activities includes Dr. Johar being the chairman on Dental Health with
Lion International. He is also a free Mason and a past worshipful master in free masonry.
Hobbies include golf and music. |
